Our Vision

Welcome to the multilingual conversation. “Our Vision” describes the purposes and hopes of this Amherst College magazine.

Read our first selection of pieces and translations by Amherst staff, students, and faculty. Translations are accessible via links at the top and bottom of each page.

Translators’ Notes

Translators conclude with a bilingual reflection on their translation process. These valuable notes illuminate many facets of the complexities of translation.

Amherst College students, faculty, and staff have contributed to Confluences.

In addition to accessing translations, you can change the website’s entire language environment. Use the menu at the top-right of the page. It is now functional for French, Spanish, Urdu, English, and Korean. Over time, we will be adding more languages.
